Cowboy Climber

Well, after nearly 12h of non-stop development, I decided to call it a night so i can be up early tommorrow. I have to say the first day went quite successfully as the only issue I had was that of my timer, after the first hour it stopped working :( but who cares.

Just after the 8h mark, the game was finally decided apon a name, Cowboy Climber which was a suggestion from a viewer. As the game stands, its a platformer style game based in the cowboy years. It only has 2 missions out of a possible 20 (do the maths) yes I think its clear that its going to take a while longer. :P

Making a Game LIVE!!

As most of you know Mojang did an event called Mojam, where they had only 60h to make a game and they live streamed the whole thing. Well for fun I'm going to start a game that I have planned for a while but live stream the whole thing. Yes i'll proberly only get about 10 view for the whole time but it will be fun and I just love making games.

The live stream will begin on the 22nd February 2012 at 3PM GMT, and will stay live until the game is completed.
The only thing you won't see in the stream is me planning it, cos its already planned lol.

Fixed Alpha Release Date!!

I am very happy to announce that I have arranged a Fixed date for the Alpha release. Due to David having a busy month the music mite not make it in 1.1 (Release version) but it will be in for 1.2 which shouldn't be many weeks after the release. Anyway the Alpha is set for release on the 1st March 2012.

For those that played the private Alpha, here is a list of changes:


Changes:

- Added more MP Levels
- Added MP AI
- Added more SP Levels
- Added an options menu
- Added a resolution option
- Added Ammo timing system
- Added Ammo timing to MP & Survival
- Added a health percentage
- Added a About Button
- Added a Forum button
- Added a save & load menu
- Removed Quick save
- Zombies are harder to kill
- Added a new sound for AA Gun
- Added a new sound for Dry Fire
- Another map added to survival mode
- Changed Boss font to red
- Changed all Zombie Textures

Fixes:

- Resolution bugs
- Health bar on level 8
- Survival mode ammo fix
- Reload spamming
- Stuck on ammo crate (Possible still)
- Survival map 1 exit
- Blood depth issue
- Health bar trail
- Health bar overlap
- Menu AA Gun Crash

Known Bugs:

- Ammo crate on level 8 moves without truck
- Mouse acting in wrong place (Possible fix)

Just a thought?

After making the Valentines day special, I came up with an idea. How about Adding health zombies to the game, so if they hug you, you gain health and after a random amount of time they explode so it adds another side of danger to the game.

I would also making it so that other zombies are able to kill the health ones, or something just so they aren't too OP.

Not long now

The public Alpha shouldn't be to long now, 1.1 is all set and ready I'm just waiting on the newnsoundtrack which shouldn't be long. I think the release is likely to be Sunday or Tuesday. Sorry for the delay just the artist has been busy due to AP stuff.

Anyway please head to the forums to discusse if you think 1.2 should include a level creator/editor.

Ohh the Lol's

I thought I would share a little screenshot of a cheat system I put into my game so it's easier to test. The cheats aren't just, type "God mode" or something like that because if anyone wanted it left in, it has to be a lot harder to know what they are. So I made it a bit like in Skyrim where you have a combination of letters. Although it wont be a feature I thought I would show anyway :D

Ammo Timer system

As I noticed when I first made the game, the player can just stand behind the crate and spam the reload button so as that is cheating, I have implemented a Timer system that counts down from 20seconds each time the player reloads and you can't reload before it reaches 0.

Resolution fix

After people were experiencing problems with the mouse being in the wrong place and other aiming problems, I have added a Resolution option to the menu. If when 1.1 is released and your resolution isn't an option, then please send me a message with your resolution in and I'll try and add it as soon as I can.
